The chip is a regular octagon made of brass. One side features a profile of Vera Keyes and the letters "SM" (for Sierra Madre). The other side depicts her full-length figure, holding out a banner with the inscription "BEGIN AGAIN" in her outstretched arms; below it reads "SIERRA MADRE".
